Rolando Rodriguez

Rolando began his career at Wells Fargo Bank where he worked for nearly 17 years while attending school full-time and helping to raise his family.  He was promoted to a leadership position within a year and served in multiple roles during his time at Wells Fargo which include Bank Supervisor, Manager, Strategic Sales Consultant and VP of Consumer Banking Operations before he left the company in 2013. 

 In 2013, Rolando was hired to improve coaching and sales cultures as a Director of Sales and Retention at Suddenlink Communications. The Executive team at Suddenlink made it known that they were preparing the company for a sale within 5 to 7 years, and he was hired to improve sales and retention efficiencies and effectiveness to achieve that goal. Rolando efforts helped the company to secure a sale two years ahead of schedule and then found himself unemployed for the first time since age 12!   

Rolando has been with New York Life for the last six and a half years and has earned various awards during his tenure.  Rolando was Rookie of the Year for his agency in 2017 and earned a prestigious Eagle recognition award for his work in Annuity Sales.  In 2019, Rolando earned Rookie Partner of the Year, in the West Central Zone and was recognized in the Top 50 Partners, in 2021, placing 2nd in the West Central Zone and 3rd overall Partner in the company thus earning the prestigious View from the Top award – awarded to only 4 Partners companywide.

Rolando is a native-born Texan who is a passionate, intentional, innovative, collaborative, and dedicated leader who wants to pour himself into his community to effect change!  He serves as Parish Council President at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Lubbock as well as acolyte, lector, Eucharistic minister and is a leader on the marriage preparation team.  Rolando also serves as a high school sports official, calling both High School football and baseball games. 

Rolando is married to Christina, and they have 3 wonderful adult children - Ysabel, Isaiah, and Ariana. He is a proud Alumnus of Texas Tech University, graduating with a B.B.A. degree in Management Information Systems in 2003 and earning his M.B.A. from Texas Tech in 2012. Texas Tech University is near and dear to his heart.
